Suspect arrested in deadly shooting at Mississippi fast food restaurant drive through

A suspect has been arrested in a Wednesday night fatal shooting at the drive-through of a Mississippi fast food restaurant.

One person was killed and three others injured after a drive-by shooting at a Canton McDonald’s Wednesday night.

The Canton Police Department told local news sources that 20-year-old Deondric Green is charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault and one count of murder.

The fatal shooting happened at the McDonald’s on Peace Street in Canton at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Canton Police Chief Otha Brown told local news sources that the shooting happened when a car came “out of nowhere” and opened fire on the car that was carrying the victims in the restaurant’s drive-through. The weapon used was a high powered rifle.

A total of four people were shot, with those victims receiving multiple bullet wounds in the leg, chest and arms.

The three people in critical condition were taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol, Canton Police, Madison Police and the Canton Fire Department also assisted with the crime scene.
